Families are seen by an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) during their appointment. IBCLCs are healthcare providers specializing in the clinical management of infant feeding challenges. The IBCLC credential is recognized around the world as the only standardized, board certified credential in lactation medicine.
Appointments are an hour long and include a full medical history, feeding observation and assessment and diagnosis of feeing challenges. You will leave with a personalized plan of action to help you reach your goals.
Services are fully covered by MSP if a referral is made by a Midwife, Physician, Registered Nurse, Nurse Practitioner or Registered Social Worker and the baby is under 6 weeks old. Private pay consultations are available without a referral and for older infants.
